Entrepreneur Profile: Your Name Sells

by Melissa Montgomery

For somebody with an academic background in advertising and gerontology, it’s no surprise that John Savio’s first invention was a jar opener designed for seniors. Working for the A1 Shopping network selling unique products online, John was introduced to the endless advantages of the internet. What if he could design something that would reach as many people as a shopping network and allow anybody total freedom and control?

Ditching jar openers for more lucrative markets, Savio moved on to create YourNameSells.com, an internet company that is revolutionizing the way professionals can market their services and retain clients throughout their career by building and maintaining their own websites.

Like most inventions, his creation of Yournamesells came directly from a personal experience. In Savio’s case, he wanted to sell his house and was unable to reconnect with a former real estate agent because she had moved companies.

“The light went on,” Savio says. “If my agent had a personal website I would have been able to just look her up on the internet and work with her again. “

This was in 2003. Savio immediately created his company and put extensive research into what it would take for small businesses, professionals and organizations to create and control their own websites. John wanted to make the internet user-friendly and accessible to everyone, not just highly skilled web designers who were controlling the cost and content of websites.

“YourNameSells.com was created to meet this burgeoning market demand for an affordable, yet complete website solution that anyone could use to design and control their own websites, regardless of their technical ability,” Savio says.

When it was launched, John offered the YourNameSells.com exclusively to charities and non-profit organizations at no cost.

After exponential growth and success in the first full year of businessYourNameSells.com continues to enjoy rapid growth and mass appeal, as well as a deserved reputation of impeccable community service for its ongoing dedication to all charities and non-profit organizations that apply.

When asked about future plans for YNS, the future looks very bright indeed. “Currently we are writing a program to allow YNS an effective way of reaching out to Non-Profits around the world. This will help get the word out there and can also be used by our business partners in the future for expanding their business. YNS is currently expanding into the UK and in Mexico with great new business partners, which will officially make YNS an International Corporation.”

What does Savio enjoy most about his success?

“My greatest enjoyment that I am currently getting day to day is watching how our small team is stepping up and working at a higher level than ever before. For such a small group they are accomplishing amazing things. It is very rewarding to know that what we have created has helped thousands of non-profit organizations.”

John doesn’t hesitate when asked who his mentors are, “ My mother and father.
My mother for her will, drive, determination and love of life, and my
father who doesn't know the word "no" when it comes to me - he has
always been there when I have needed him. They are both amazing people and , have helped shape how I live my life and how I look at and operate my business.”

A true entrepreneur, Savio believes in the importance of dreams, “Everyone's dreams are different. For me they are about my family and my work. I am passionate about both. They both inspire shape and who I am. Whatever they are you owe it to yourself to - at the very least - try to make them come true. “
