Yahoo Adds Blogs
Website Yahoo Inc’s. online news search engine will now add web logs, or “blogs” in its search results. If successful, the move could prove the public’s acceptance of alternative new sources.
The move is an example of the popularity of unconventional news outlets, regardless of how accurate—or inaccurate-- they might be.
Yahoo says it wants to recognize ‘citizen journalism”, since bloggers, many of whom often have little journalism training, usually cover and even break stories that traditional news outlets ignore or don’t have time to report on.
Google Inc. has a search tool that specifically sifts through blogs, though its news section still uses traditional news sources.
Since blogs don’t have the same credibility as mainstream newspapers, radio and television programs, Yahoo will list its blog results in a box separated from the “conventional” news sources.

Connection between weight and produce prices
The price of an apple may have more to do with children’s weight gain than their proximity to a fast food outlet.
A new study suggested the price of produce has stronger ties to weigh gain in kids than the amount of junk food they consume.
The study examined the weight gain of 6,918 children of varying backgrounds from 59 U.S. metropolitan areas, through kindergarten to grade three. The researchers compared the children’s weight gain to the price of different types of foods and the number of food outlets in the areas.
What the children ate was not a factor in the study.
The study showed that young children who live in areas where produce is pricier are expensive are more likely to gain excessive amounts of weight than kids who live in areas where it costs less.

Change Immigration, Florida Urges
Gov. Jeb Bush urged the U.S. government to change the way it handles immigration and visa policies.
" Now it's important to look at where we are and to make the necessary adjustments so that we don't choke off international travel. So that we don't choke off international commerce," he said during The Miami Herald's annual Americas Conference.
" It is a good thing to have people who want to come to set up their business, to invest here, to use this as a platform for the expansion of their business, whether they're from Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil or Texas."
Bush said he received a lot of feedback from frustrated people who go through Miami’s International Airport and that the government should expand scholarship programs in Latin America, the Caribbean and other regions for residents to come study in the U.S.
